You come, follow, and disappear.
I started writing on Medium on 18th of August and I was struggling to get readers for my articles from the very first day I posted. It was a challenge for me, because whenever I post a story, it ended up with very few claps and comments. My first few articles got just little claps which demotivated me.

Then, days keep on passing and the end of the month arrived. Everyone started posting their medium achievements in terms of payout and followers.
Every article demonstrated happiness on achieving 300 followers, 500 followers. Some even said they got 500+ followers this month.
Not only this, everyone had determined some goals to gain more followers in the upcoming month.
As a newbie, the crux that I obtained from these articles was struggling for more and more followers. I started thinking that more followers lead to more reads and claps.
