A lot has been happening on medium, glitches, low EPR, mass suspensions, revocations, and what not. You name it, medium start doing it for us.
In December, the focus was on complaining about low EPR. Everyone hoped for betterment in earnings as new year started. But the trend continued in January also and writers called it the worst EPR week of medium history.
Medium took all this very seriously and started paying in cents, so we can’t complain about earnings. Again, writers started making fun of these cents, and now medium halted payments.
No payments = No complains
Yesterday medium’s VP of Content, Scott Lamb, has shed light on mass suspensions that happened during past few days. It was a detailed article on how medium is struggling to get rid of spam and fraud.
Unfortunately, this article didn’t address the payment issue. Although it contains a few lines about calculation of earnings, there’s no clarity. These lines just claim that medium has made some tweaks to the way earnings are calculated.
What are your thoughts on this ongoing situation? I think earnings are a motivating factor to write a better content. Better the earnings, better will be our determination to write quality content.
I hope Medium will soon resolve the issue and we’ll get a good EPR for our writings we pour our heart.
