Last week when the status of many writers turned to “unknown” everyone was worried and curious about it. Many predicted it’s a glitch or a technical error because medium was completely silent about the matter and wasn’t responding to emails sent by writers.
After 2–3 days medium responded to emails sent to them by saying that it was a technical issue from their side and soon it gets resolved. However, many senior writers fear that there was something big happening behind the doors of medium and medium is planning a massive crackdown.
The fear came true, and suspensions are being happening on this platform since yesterday.
Last night, I was searching for my favorite writer @Harsha gurnani (can’t even tag her now), but I didn’t find her profile. I thought may be my mind is not properly working since it’s late at night. So, I decided to shut down my laptop and went to sleep. Today, when I woke up, I was surprised to see a massive decline in my followers. I wrote about it in my recent article.
I pray my other favorite writers are safe.
Apparently, Medium has decided to suspend several accounts, may be due to “violation of medium rules” and they have also suspended their enrollment in the Partner Program.
